Leaves Make Great Crafts

Leaves falling from the trees in our neighborhoods are so beautiful. Fall is a season rich with color. The orange, red and gold leaves are perfect for easy crafts especially on a damp and rainy day.

Here are two inexpensive crafts. Before the weather gets too damp and cold, plan an afternoon outing in the park to pick up some beautiful and colorful leaves for the projects.

Placemat

Dress up your table with this fun leaf placemat. Of course you can use them on your holiday dinner table as well.

The children will enjoy this project. It's very easy. Here is what you will need to get started.

    • Leaf Art

This is a fun project for the children who like to color.

leaf art Put the leaves on the table with the vein side facing you and place a piece of white paper on top of the leaves.

If the leaves move around too much, tape the leaves on a piece of white paper first.

Next rub the flat end of the crayon over the vein of the leaves making a colorful outline of the leaf on the white paper.

      Magnets

Magnets are nice party favors or gifts.

Supplies for this project are leaves and a roll of magnetic tape from the craft store. Use packaged leaves from the craft store for this project.

This is so simple. Just cut off a strip of the magnetic tape from the roll and adhere it to the back of each leaf. That's It!

      Sooooo Simple!
